BY TODD BOWMAN

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Maryland – Several local public safety agencies gathered at the Hagerstown Elks Lodge on Robinwood Drive this afternoon to support Cuddling Angels and their princess and superhero themed fundraiser.

Cuddling Angels is a local non-profit that raises money to fund Cuddle Cots- a cooling system used to keep babies that are deceased cool.

“This device allows families to keep their babies at the bedside for several days, allowing them to grieve,” event coordinator Holly McBride Poling said.

Hagerstown Police Department, Funkstown Volunteer Fire Company, Community Rescue Service Inc. and Life Net 81 were on site. The personnel provided tours of their units and demonstrations.
