HAGERSTOWN, Maryland- One person is dead and a second injured after an alledged shooting in the area of Noland Drive and Sherman Avenue in Halfway early Saturday morning, according to officials.
Heather Aleshire, Hagerstown Police Department spokeswoman confirmed the deceased is a 20-year-old male who was found with multiple gunshot wounds and pronounced dead at the scene.
“(A second victim) was transported to Meritus Medical Center and then flown to Shock Trauma,” according to a fire department official with Halfway Volunteer Fire Company.
Aleshire said that the body of the victim was located on Massey Blvd near Rt. 11.
The fire department spokesman added both victims were “found behind the church at Virginia Avenue. and Massey Blvd.”
Police, fire department and EMS units were initially dispatched to 17251 Cole Road.
The investigation is active and on-going at this time, according to a press release by the Hagerstown Police Department.
Units from Halfway Volunteer Fire Company, Washington County Division Of Emergency Services, Community Rescue Service Inc. and Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Maryland responded to the 4:24 a.m. incident.
On Wednesday, May 17 at 2:45 a.m. units were dispatched to 512 W. Church St. for a stabbing. Police found 28-year-old Dazon Deangelo Dyson with multiple stab wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Anthony Jerome Webb, 49, was charged with first-degree murder, second-degree murder, first-degree assault and carrying a dangerous weapon with intent.
Webb remains at the Washington County Detention Center without bond.
