Local child flown to D.C. hospital after being injured with a knife

LITTLE ORLEANS, Maryland – Just after 6 p.m. local fire and EMS units were dispatched to Stotlemeyer Road in Little Orleans for a reported laceration, according to a spokesman with the Flintstone Volunteer Fire Department.

The patient, identified only as a 6-year-old sustained an accidental laceration to their leg from a knife.

No further details could be provided.

The spokesman confirmed the patient was transported to Children’s National Medical Center in Washington D.C. by Maryland State Police Aviation.

Units responding on the call included Orleans Volunteer Fire Department, Flintstone Ambulance and Hancock EMS.
