SHARPSBURG, Maryland – As each shift passes, the days turn to weeks and the weeks to years, it is inevitable that a paramedic’s heart grows a little harder. The stress of the job…seeing death and destruction and having to try and make sense of it all.  It is nice to take a day and spend it will a smiling, happy faced little boy, much like a puppy, he is always happy to see you.

A friend, her son and myself spent an afternoon at the historic Antietam Battlefield in Sharpsburg, Maryland taking Fall photos.
